Employees of Aristo Pharma Russia took part in the 14th Eurasian Pharmaceutical Forum 2023 held for the first time in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on February 28 – March 01.

The Forum addressed the current issues and further development prospects of the pharmaceutical markets of Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU): Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia. The participants got a unique opportunity to meet and communicate with the representatives of the leading pharmaceutical market players - regulators, international and local pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors and pharmacy chains.

The Forum sessions allowed to discuss and start working on such specific and long-term issues as highly required changes in the drug registration processes under both national and EAEU procedures, as well as the necessity and sooner implementation of the drug serialization in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

Founded in 2014, the EAEU is headed by the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). Within recent years the EAEU has taken a number of important steps on unifying the pharmaceutical markets of members-states, i.e. creation of common regulation of drug registration procedures. The establishment of a single regulatory body similar to the European Medicines Agency (EMA) is in the agenda for the near future. Uzbekistan with the second largest economy in the CIS region after Kazakhstan and the pharmaceutical market volume of USD 1,7 bln is the EAEU observer-state since 2020.
